Brean Down – November 2025
A first visit to this coastal grassland site took place in challenging conditions, with recent drought and frost limiting expectations. The group made their way up onto the exposed slopes, where a modest but interesting range of grassland species was recorded. Several waxcap species were present, along with a few notable finds, including one that may represent a new addition pending further confirmation. Heavy rain soon set in, making conditions difficult and cutting the visit short. Despite this, useful records were gathered, and the site showed potential for further exploration in more favourable conditions.
