Hellenge Hill – October 2025

A small group explored this grassland reserve on a circular route, passing through several fields before returning via a steep slope. Just over 20 species were recorded, mostly typical of grassland habitats. Compared with previous visits, there was a noticeable absence of some of the more characteristic species associated with unimproved sites, likely due to the earlier timing of the survey. Finds were spread across the different fields, with a steady but fairly modest variety overall. Despite this, the visit provided a useful snapshot of conditions at the site and a basis for comparison with later surveys in the season.
